Hello

Sometimes I show up to a wedding - and this has become something of a phenomenon I have come to recognise - I walk in and often have an immediate sense of recognition with those I am meeting.

While I usually know the couple pretty well by this point, I might be talking to the mother of the groom, or one of the bridesmaids, or a friend…and I’m feeling ‘I think I know you’, sometimes I even say ‘have we met before?’. And as the day continues I realise I haven’t, and I used to wonder how it could be. Because there’s such a strong sense of familiarity, it’s uncanny.

You might call it ‘instinct’, ‘premonition’, ‘being in tune’. But recently I’ve started to think - when I have that feeling - ‘by the end of this day, I ***will*** know you as I feel I do now, just exactly as I’m feeling it here’. I’ll have had some good chats, have heard some history, witnessed childhood memories being recalled, and captured true expressions of a lifetime of love. Because this is the nature of weddings, and the depth of sharing that I get to stand by.

Well…it’s a beautiful thing it really is! …and I honestly believe this sense of connection brings a true authenticity to the photos you receive and how we collaborate on the day.

Me & your day

I shot my first wedding back in 2011, for a friend. What started off as just a few weddings here and there has slowly turned into the most lovely and rewarding job. I am so grateful - mostly for my beautiful couples, who make working in this industry…not feel remotely like an ‘industry’ at all.

It is always in my mind and heart that this is real life, real days, real relationships. A place where I’m witness to the most vulnerable and remarkable moments - for a couple, for a person, for a family. I am ever mindful that these genuine souls invite me into their most intimate and heartfelt days.

This is YOUR day, and I am here to capture it in such a way, that when you look back on the images, they feel like...~you~…and I am so honoured to be asked to do that.
